Shostak, president of Box of Rain LLC, a Brooklyn-based business development and event consulting firm, will be spearheading the formation of a new Junior Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, Brooklyn. The new Junior Board (JB) will help raise awareness of the Brooklyn Office's current programs and services in the community and support the Office's expansion through fund raising, technical assistance and professional expertise. The JB will be provided with the opportunity to build leadership skills while learning about cancer and related issues and the ongoing challenges facing the non-profit sector. American Cancer Society Brooklyn and Mr. Shostak are seeking emerging leaders and active networkers who are interested in building social and business connections while helping raise funds and awareness. Junior Board members will be invited to spearhead individual projects, such as in-kind drives or benefit parties, help with the annual Gala, or organize a neighborhood Relay for Life. Junior Board members may also have the opportunity to serve on committees for existing events and volunteer at events or in programs.
