Appoint officers at next meeting
Lenny suggested everyone register on www.boxofrain.com, to increase communication between members
Thoughts on domain name:
-Proactive, shows hope, positive, motivational
- Can be as many characters as you like
- Not too specific
Business After Hours Event:
-Date: Thursday, March 25th, 2010
-Where: Find (Smith/9th St. Station, across from Lowes)
-Amount: $10 prepay, $15 @ door
-Drinks: Coupon for two drinks, $2-3 per drink
-Food, music, short films
-Use our skills, reach out, expose ourselves, and promote Pink and Black Gala
-Door Prizes: Professional Donations, raffle off tickets to Gala?
-Food and Wine Donors, Sponsors
Responsibilities For After Hours Event:
-Susan Demarco- set up for event, talk to local vendors about donating prizes, organize 50/50 raffle.

-Ingrid Lyles/Arlene: Food Donations from local vegetarian restaurant
-Lucette/Jason: Alcohol Donations
-Mathew Smith: Will contact local businesses for donations

Present: Leonard Shostack, Tamara Ehlin, Matthew Smith, Mike ? , Lucette Calas, Brad Nicoll
The meeting commenced at 6:30 pm with introductions. Welcome new member, Mike _________.
The first networking event will be held at FIND furniture on March 28, 2010, from 6 – 9 pm. The group discussed the type of event, and all agreed it should primarily be a networking event. There will be trivia based team building and networking activities. Tamara suggested the name,

There will be a charge of $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Tamara and Lenny will work together to figure out how to accept donations. This will include two signature drinks, made with a case of vodka Tamara can provide. Lucette can get wine donated, which will be provided with an additional donation. Attendees will be given two chips, or something similar, to use for drinks. Lenny is looking into costs.
Group would like Ken Varga to MC, and provide sound equipment. The store does have speakers through which we can run an IPOD.
The group discussed having food at the event. It was agreed that there should be food, which will be solicited from local restaurants/caterers/stores.
In order to make this event happen, it was decided that committees need to form to handle specific tasks as follows:
 
Beverage Committee: Lucette and Sue
Includes securing all items for bar (glasses, napkins), water, soda, wine and materials for signature drink.
 
Food Committee: Matt & ?
Solicit food and all items needed for set up and service
 
A/V: Ken Varga
 
Registration/On-Line Registration: Lenny
 
Auction Committee: Need chair
Solicit raffle gifts/prizes & all items related to raffle (tickets, etc.)
 
Day of Logistics: Patty (if available) and Jason
Arrive at site early, supervise load in and set up, supervise and assign volunteers
 
Games/Activities for event: Lenny

For floor, bar, etc.
Next on the agenda, the group discussed hosting a party after the Gala. Lenny will reach out to contacts to find a venue, possibly the Brooklyn Bowl. The group also discussed holding a Poker Night at ACS. This would be by invitation only. There would be a buy-in donation of $50, ½ would go to ACS. Top three winners would receive remainder. Needs for this would be beverages and food.
The meeting concluded at 7:30 pm. The group will meet again on March 2nd at 6:30 pm.
