Jean's professional background includes marketing, writing, department and project management, and communications with publishing and technology firms and nonprofit organizations. Along the way, Jean has also been involved in several business startups, mergers, restructurings, and product and website launches. Jean learned the basics of the open-source Drupal CMS in just a few weeks and has developed and managed numerous websites on Drupal and Wordpress, as well as handling content strategy on several more sites. Her freelance clients include publishers, direct marketers, consulting firms, web startups, food businesses, professional services, higher education, manufacturing, and nonprofit organizations.

Personal Interests

Jean currently volunteers for Green-Wood Cemetery and the WCS Prospect Park Zoo and previously volunteered for school, youth, and professional organizations and the Taproot Foundation. She has published reviews and articles in Mystery Scene Magazine, leading indie publishing outlets, Medium, Examiner.com, and several hyperlocal news sites.

Jean has a BA in English Literature from the Johns Hopkins University with a minor in French. She has studied abroad in Rouen, France, and has taken classes in Ad Copywriting, Fiction, Nonfiction, Personal Essay, and Freelance Writing, Copy Editing, Photography, and art. She enjoys reading, writing, word games, digital photography, nature, art, running, yoga, and a personal mindfulness practice.
