Mark Stone, CPA, CFP
Mark Stone practices in diversified areas of taxation, specializing in issues related to closely-held businesses and high net worth individuals. His expertise includes research, business transactional planning, consulting, and federal, state and local tax compliance. Mark has extensive experience in the areas of manufacturing, real estate, service industries, and investment partnerships.
Mark is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State and holds the Certified Financial Planning designation and the Personal Financial Planning designation. In addition, he has a Masters degree in Taxation from the State University of NY at Albany.
Mark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He is a member of the organization's statewide Partnership and LLC Committee, the Estate Planning Committee, and the statewide Budgeting and Finance committee. In May 2008, Mark became President of the NYSSCPA Nassau Chapter, the largest chapter in the state. He has previously served as the NYSSCPA Nassau Chapter Estate and Financial Planning committee chair, and as treasurer of the Federal Taxation Committee.
Mark has developed seminars and instructed in the areas of partnership and corporate taxation. He has lectured extensively to various professional groups including the NYSSCPA, National Conference of CPA Practitioners, Institute of Management Accountants, and the International Association of Financial Planners, and published articles on many tax and financial topics including the CPA Journal, Trusted Professional, and the Journal of Financial Planning.
